Most of the bottles I have to show you this time are from the October All Miniatures Auction
by Whisky Auction UK. This was a spectacularly good auction in both the quality of the
minis on offer and the prices fetched. This time I am going to show you bottles from
England, mainly but not exclusively, English bottled Scotch.
We start and finish with bottles from the south of
England. Grants Morella Cherry Brandy is from a
company based in Mainstone in Kent, not the well
known Wm. Grant & Sons. This is a 5cl bottle
from, probably, the 1950’s. £4 bought it, which is
really cheap for such a nice old bottle but then it is
a liqueur. O.H.B. Scotch is from brewer Eldridge,
Pope & Co. of Dorchester. It sold for £22, cheap
for a 70+ year old Scotch is good condition. Long
& Co. OHMS 5cl Scotch was bottled in the 1930’s.
£35 seems about right.
We now have 5 bottles from London, the first two
non-alcoholic. Pimms No1 Cup needs no
introduction. This bottle is from the 1950’s and
was bottled by H. D. Davies. The brand is now
owned by Diageo. It is a 70/75ml bottle that sold for £7. Schweppes also needs no
introduction and this is also a 70/75ml bottle. The ready to drink Ginger Cordial sold for £5.
A. S. Chapman made the Red Seal Scotch. This is a 5cl bottle, probably from the 1950’s. A
mere £8 bought it, cheap for a Scotch. ???? Angus bottled William Wallace Scotch is
another 5cl bottle, again, probably from the 1950’s. £9 (cheap!) bought it. Finally for London
we have Vat 42 Scotch from The Bodega Company. This is again 5cl but this time it sold for
a respectable £24.
