Pride of Baltimore was built in 1977 (not an error). It was
a copy of the Baltimore Clipper Ships used in the war of
1812. It is actually a Topsail Schooner, not a true Clipper
Ship). The mini is from of a company of the same name
and contains Bourbon. This is the only mini they made.
Dating from 1851 America was the first yacht to race for
the Americas Cup (in the same year) and it won. The
trophy, the world’s oldest sporting trophy, will next be
contested for in March 2021 in Auckland, NZ as New
Zealand are the current holders. Possibly/maybe!
To finish I have a few nice ship pictures on
miniatures that unfortunately I know nothing about,
other than who made the miniature and the contents
– what else is important?
The first two jugs are from
Destilerias Unidas Peru. Both contain
varieties of rum.
The other minis all contain 5cl of
Scotch and are all from Rutherfords.
I will have more ship minis for you in
the next miNiZ.
